The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may be stressful for people. Fear and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. Coping with stress will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has established resources for coping with stresses associated with or exacerbated by the COVID-19 situation.
You can also access the National Alliance on Mental Health's COVID-19 Resource and Information Guide.

The US Department of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration offers a Disaster Distress Helpline at (800) 985-5990. You may also text TalkWithUs to 66746 to chat via messaging, or download SAMHSA's Disaster Mobile app via the App Store or Google Play.

Finally, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health staffs a 24/7 Help Line at (800) 854-7771. Visit LACDMH's Coronavirus/COVID-19 page for more resources.
