SONC Board Meeting

Join us at our October 10 meeting with Guest Speaker Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian.


This year 1059 bills were passed by the legislature, and 900 were signed by Gov. Brown. Hear our Assemblymember's Report from Sacramento on the significant new laws and his perspectives on the hot-button issues on the November 8 Ballot.


We wish you and your family a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.


The SONC Board meeting will follow our Guest Speaker.

Updates from LAPD Senior Lead Officers and Elected Officials' Staff

SONC Committee Reports for Board meeting


* Land Use Committee (LUC) Report:

* Updates on Sherman Oaks developments
* The Land Use Committee’s Vision Sub-Committee will report to the Board and community on potential sites for public parks in Sherman Oaks, south of the #101 Freeway.


* Animal Welfare Committee:

SONC has revitalized this very important committee. The cats and dogs in our shelters need you! We are collecting blankets and towels and we will personally deliver those items to the East Valley Animal Shelter.

* Outreach Committee:

* Public Safety Committee:

Volunteer to serve on this important committee. Work with LAPD Senior Lead officers, Neighborhood Prosecutor issues, Neighborhood Watch Programs, and Emergency Preparedness.

Help make Sherman Oaks even more beautiful and livable.

*Traffic and Transportation Committee:

Traffic is an increasing problem in LA… Help SONC work with the City and Council office to find solutions to the traffic problems in Sherman Oaks. You can help be part of the solution!
The Traffic and Transportation committee will meet on October 18. On the agenda:
  • a proposed new route for the Sherman Oaks-Studio City Dash Line
  • a SONC position on a plan to limit morning traffic in Sherman Oaks, south of Ventura Blvd, will be considered. Stay tuned…details to follow regarding a Community meeting regarding this issue
