SONC has both standing and ad hoc committees that include at least one stakeholder who is not an elected member of the SONC Board. The rest of the members are stakeholders that are elected, selected or appointed each serving a one year term.

Each committee, subcommittee and ad hoc chairperson are stakeholders designated by the SONC Chairperson. Additionally, committee and subcommittee chairs must be on the SONC Board while ad hoc chairs need only be stakeholders.
